2020 Fellowship Positions and Host Sites

The Alliance is continuously accepting Host Site applications from organizations implementing forest health management projects in the Sierra.  These organizations include environmental nonprofits, state and public agencies, land trusts, and federal agencies. Fellows work with staff at these host sites to implement forest health, wildfire resilience, biomass utilization, and natural resource management projects and programs.  Host sites are expected to provide a site supervisor/mentor to guide and train the Fellows and to provide the resources necessary for projects. Host Sites are located throughout the Sierra. Host Sites will be involved in the interview process and make the final selection of Fellows.

If you need assistance implementing your forest health projects and programs, contact the Alliance to find out more about Sierra Corps Partnerships.  Depending on funding, Host Sites are asked to contribute a cash match that covers a portion of the cost of hiring a Fellow. Our current priority is identifying partners within the Tahoe Basin that are interested in pursuing joint grant applications for Sierra Corps Fellows to implement Tahoe based-projects. We already have funding secured for three 2021 positions located OUTSIDE OF THE TAHOE BASIN at a cost-share rate of $25,000.

Contact Program Director, Nicole Lutkemuller at nicole@sierranevadaalliance.org, for more information on Host Site Partnerships.

Funding for this project has been provided by California Climate Investments and the CA Timber Regulation and Forest Restoration Fund through the Sierra Nevada Conservancy, an agency of the State of California.
