EcoTour: The Ephemeral Wonders of Meridian Ranch

This guided walking tour invites you to explore the rare and ephemeral beauty of vernal pools—seasonal wetlands that burst into bloom with unique and colorful wildflowers. As you stroll through the grasslands, you’ll learn about the ecology, history, and conservation of this sensitive habitat.
Key Features:
- Tour guided by Westervelt Ecological Services and NCRLT staff
- Walking tour to vernal pools and wildflower viewing that may included viewing of listed and endemic vernal pool invertebrates
- Includes locally sourced picnic with beverages
We will meet at the NCRLT office in Philadelphia Square complex in North Chico and caravan to the site. An email with directions and further instructions will be sent out prior to the event.
This event is rain or shine. However, extreme weather will cancel and be rescheduled for a future date.
