Each January, 9th grade students at Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning (SAEL) participate in the regional Caring for Our Watersheds competition. Students learn about their place in — and research issues affecting — their local watershed. In their proposals, students explain one realistic action that they can take to positively impact the health of their watershed.

Each student works alone or in groups of up to 4 to implement their project over the course of the semester. Come see a selection of students present their proposals from this year, and get an opportunity to celebrate exemplary proposals from 10th – 12th graders who earned distinction as finalists over the past few years!
