Webinar: Tahoe Sediments as Archives of Past Precipitation and Drought
March 10, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
The Tahoe Environmental Research Center is having a webinar on “What do the sediments in Lake Tahoe tell us about climate?” on March 10 at noon.
Speaker Dave Osleger is a Professor of Teaching in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at UC Davis. His research involves the use of sediment layers to decipher environmental and climatic conditions of the past to provide perspective for understanding modern climate systems. The talk will explore the processes that transport sediment into Lake Tahoe and how they can be used to tease out ancient episodes of drought and precipitation.
