SNEW’s Climate and Energy Outlook Series: Calaveras, Amador, Tuolumne, and Mariposa Counties

March 30, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

The environment has a significant impact on energy use and productivity. Reduced stream flows can weaken hydropower. Storms and wildfire risks can force utility public power shut offs. And hotter conditions can drive energy demand for cooling. While these disturbances are likely to continue, sustainable energy use reduces emissions, cuts costs on utility bills, and enables people and communities to better adapt.

Thus, the Sierra Business Council’s Sierra Nevada Energy Watch (SNEW) program has designed its Climate and Energy Outlook Series, a catalog of climate projections and related energy impacts for each county in its territory. The goal is to highlight changing circumstances within each jurisdiction and begin conversations around potential energy solutions. Join SNEW in this session on March 30th at 12 pm as we focus on counties in the South Central area: Calaveras, Amador, Tuolumne, and Mariposa.
