Since time immemorial, burning has taken place in the Sierra Nevada to maintain forest ecosystems. Now, after decades of fire suppression, intentional fire is being welcomed back to the landscape within communities and on public lands. Expert speakers will help detail the steps and importance of burning in our region, including discussion of the differences between prescribed and cultural burning – and what that means for implementation and partnerships.
