California Forest Observatory’s Forest Management Task Force
September 1, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
California Forest Observatory is proud to announce the public launch of the California Forest Observatory platform at the September 14th meeting of the Forest Management Task Force. Please add info@forestobservatory.com to your “safe senders” list to ensure you continue to get updates and information (instructions here).
The California Forest Observatory is a forest monitoring platform that combines satellite imagery, airborne LiDAR, and AI-powered ecological modeling to map vegetation fuels and wildfire hazard in unprecedented detail across the entire state. It’s a data-driven platform for researchers, policymakers, agencies, land managers, and landowners to improve their understanding of the ecological patterns that drive wildfire behavior and plan forest management activities for wildfire resilience.
