ARC Board member Scott Vail will lead this hike from Wrights Road to Forni Meadow on July 9th from 9am-3pm. The hike is approximately 10 miles round trip climbing from 6700-7600 feet. The trail is an old road and is suitable for intermediate hikers. As the trail ascends to Forni Meadow we will pass through old growth red fir and associated vegetation with views of the Crystal Range and the mountains south of highway 50. The area was in the Caldor Fire and we will be looking at the fire effects on the ecosystem. Well-behaved dog on-leash OK. Fit 12-year-olds+ welcome.
