Hike the Acorn Creek Trail with Barbara Houghton, geologist/hydrogeologist, and Cal Nat graduate on September 28 from 9am - 12pm. Barbara will talk about Geology of the northern Sierra Nevada and some of the history associated with mining and water. Well-behaved dog-on-leash OK. Age minimum 10 years. Returning Native Lands to Native Hands ARC hosts this fundraiser to give the 320-acre property currently known as Ladies Valley to the Miwok-Nisenan members of Cosumnes Culture and Waterways (CCAWW). With this momentous gift to the indigenous people of the region, ARC is participating in the international “landback” movement. This fundraising experience aims to raise at least $25,000.
