Join volunteer Ami Stroud for this strenuous hike on the South Fork American Trail on June 5th, 10:30am-3pm. This trail system is the proud result of over 20 years of work by ARC staff, many volunteers, BLM, and the state of California, to protect this critical watershed of 2,632 acres. Join American River Conservancy at their grand opening ribbon-cutting celebration for the new outdoor Education Center at Wakamatsu Farm. Open Farm Day starts at 10:00 am when guests are welcome to arrive. Festivities will begin at 11:00 am. In addition to the ribbon-cutting ceremony, enjoy live entertainment and poetry readings. Returning Native Lands to Native Hands ARC hosts this fundraiser to transfer title of the 320-acre property currently known as Ladies Valley to the care and authority of the Miwok-Nisenan members of Cosumnes Culture and Waterways (CCAWW). With this momentous gift to the indigenous people of the region, ARC is participating in the international “landback” movement. This fundraising experience aims to raise at least $25,000.
