Yuba River Cleanup Day
September 18, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
The Yuba River Cleanup is back! This year, we are using lessons learned in 2020 to build a stronger more resilient cleanup that will impact even more of the Yuba River watershed.
Though SYRCL’s River Ambassadors have been hard at work this summer to remind visitors to pack it out and recycle at Highway 49, Bridgeport, and Purdon, there is much more of our watershed that needs attention and help!
SYRCL is hosting the 24th Annual Yuba River Cleanup from September 11 through the 18, 2021. From Saturday to Saturday, volunteers will be helping to remove trash from trails and beaches by choosing from a Self-Guided Cleanup or joining us on Sept 18th for our official community-wide Yuba River Cleanup from 9-1pm.
River Cleanup volunteers make a huge difference in the health of our watershed. Over the past 20 years, the Yuba River Cleanup has removed more than 120 tons of garbage and recycling from the river. This cleanup effort augments our education and outreach efforts that promote river safety and etiquette to river-goers.
The Yuba River Cleanup is part of a larger cleanup effort, California Coastal Cleanup Day, which started in 1985 and is the largest volunteer event in the state.
PLEASE NOTE: Tahoe National Forest is closed to the public. Please no trespassing unless granted access by USFS.
