Spring is in the Air! – a Plein Air Outing
May 20, 2023 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join us for a morning of art in the outdoors! Placer Artists Tour and Placer Land Trust are partnering for this plein air painting, drawing, and photography outing. This is not a docent-led event, but there will be a Placer Land Trust Volunteer present to guide you to scenic places on the preserve, or to answer questions. You can stroll to Raccoon Creek or through the oak woodlands to sketch, paint, and photograph the beauty that catches your eye during a season of nature budding out after winter. Works from the event will be shared with the public at a specially organized show; location and date TBD.
About Taylor Ranch / Big Hill Preserves:
These preserves protect critical unfragmented oak woodlands in the Raccoon Creek and Bear River watersheds and are part of one of the last relatively “wild” areas in western Placer County. The trails on these preserves meander past spectacular rock formations, the gently flowing Raccoon Creek, and panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada foothills and Sacramento Valley. Learn more about this beautiful preserve here.
