RiversLab is a time for us river geeks to sit down, listen in, and discuss a topic of our AmeriCorps choice. This January 24th Reed, SYRCL’s restoration coordinator/ AmeriCorps, will be presenting on Cody C. Reed’s research paper on “Restoring function: Positive responses of carbon and nitrogen to 20 years of hydrologic restoration in montane meadows.

We will be getting into the nitty-gritty of Cody C. Reed’s findings. Her research ultimately suggests “that restoration of floodplain hydrology in montane meadows has significant impacts on below ground C and N stocks, soil C and N concentration, and soil C chemistry within the first two decades following restoration.”

The goal is to have a conversation as a group on the topic and enhance each other’s understanding with discussion.
