Reclaiming the Sierra 2020: Headwater Mercury Source Reduction (HMSR) Workshop showcases The Sierra Fund’s (TSF) decade long commitment to assess and address the impacts of the Gold Rush era on California’s communities and natural resources using an online platform so that this important work can continue, even in the face of the COVID-19 crisis. The May 2020 event focuses on two of four strategic mercury contamination targets in the Sierra Nevada: Hydraulic Mines and Mine Features and Mercury in Forest and Land Management. The all-day virtual forum will include live presentations and discussion with technical experts, agency staff, federal landowners, and scientists from across the region and state.
