The Lake Tahoe Summit on August 25 celebrated resiliency at Lake Tahoe, on both an environmental and cultural level. For the first time in the annual event’s 24 years, the summit was conducted entirely online and reached thousands of viewers. The “Resilient Tahoe” Summit was hosted by U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D, Nev) and brought together tribal elders, environmental leaders, and elected officials to share resources and re-commit to the Lake Tahoe Environmental Improvement Program (EIP).

Announcements dropped at the summit include the commemorative coin mentioned above, a $100,000 grant to study microplastics at Tahoe, and a pilot program to add shuttle service between Reno and Tahoe in 2021.
