Join Bear Yuba Land Trust on a guided walk through the spring blooms at Wildflower Ridge Preserve. This family friendly event is geared towards those new(er) to plant and wildflower identification, but open to all lovers of nature and beauty.

Following the walk, let the wildflowers be your inspiration as you take pen to paper for a poet-led writing workshop. During the activity, participants will have the opportunity to create and share their own writing about California’s unique land, water, flora, and fauna and reflect upon the impact of conservation on our community.

To best accommodate all levels of knowledge and interest, we will be offering the wildflower walk and accompanying poetry workshop in two separate, but simultaneous sessions: one for adults and one for youth (recommended for ages 9-17). When registering, please select the appropriate session for both you and your family members. (Please note that children of all ages are welcome to participate. Children and parents/guardians may also stay together for both activities if preferred.)

What: Wildflower Hike & Poetry Workshop
Adult: Hike led by Shane Hanofee; poetry workshop led by Kirsten Casey
Youth: Hike led by Raelynn Noel; poetry workshop led by Ingrid Keriotis

When: Saturday, May 4, 2024, 10am to 12pm
