IN THE FIELD: Fungi Walk
February 11, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Join us in partnering with California Native Plant Society for a walk full of fungi! Shane Hanofee will be leading a hike at the Yuba Rim Trail identifying mushrooms, lichens and much more. This hike is rated as moderate and welcome to all myco-enthusiasts. Please come dressed for the weather, bring a pocket knife and hand lens if you have one. Water and snacks.
Location Information: From Nevada City, take Highway 49 towards Camptonville, turn left on Marysville Road and cross over the Bullards Bar Dam. Rice’s Crossing Preserve is located 1.3 miles from the dam. Park in the turnout on the left, across from the quarry by the large white sign above the meadow. The trailhead begins at the large rock boulders next to the white sign, look for a Yuba Rim Trail sign at the bottom of the hill at the edge of the meadow. Contact Aleena Church, firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
