Fire Effects Snowshoe Trek
The Sugar Pine Foundation (SPF) and the Tahoe Rim Trail Association (TRTA) are teaming up for a morning of education and fun in South Lake Tahoe’s Van Sickle Bi-State Park. While snowshoeing through the park to enjoy panoramic vistas and a brief visit to a waterfall, you’ll learn about the intriguing local natural and human history, discuss forest topics related to the area and see firsthand the impacts of a wildfire burn zone. This three-mile, easy-moderate, out-and-back trek is appropriate for children. The $5 registration fee is non-refundable. Van Sickle parking is closed in the winter but the public parking garage in Heavenly Village for is only $3.75/hr and a short walk away from the meeting location at the park gate.
