With the start of the California 30×30 process this year the subject of equity and conservation has come up in several conversations. Like conservation, equity does not have one definition. Equity across the board can have many different meanings and look different in each region and community in the state of California. For this year’s Latino Conservation Week, Hispanic Access Foundation would like to host a panel discussion with representatives from BIPOC communities throughout California. Having a conversation around equity and conservation and what that looks like for each region is important to highlight. We cannot have a one-size-fits-all solution. This event will be an open conversation between community members from throughout CA, elected officials, and agency staff.
