Mark your calendars! The Great Sierra River Cleanup is happening on September 23, 2023 and we’re excited to announce that the Alliance is the new coordinator for the event.

The Great Sierra River Cleanup is an event organized in conjunction with California Coastal Cleanup Day – the largest volunteer event in the state. The Sierra produces 60% of California’s water supply and supplies the state with 50% of its hydroelectric energy. Unfortunately, our waterways are impacted by waste and other pollutants making their way downstream. Sierra Nevada Alliance, with the California Coastal Commission, will help to provide resources to help cleanup our valuable rivers during this year’s Great Sierra River Cleanup.
