Wildlife Conservation Social Media Specialist – Wildlife Restoration Foundation

The Wildlife Restoration Foundation (WRF) is seeking a Social Media Specialist to play a vital role in expanding WRF’s reach, storytelling, and public engagement across digital platforms. This position will collaborate closely with the WRF Director of Partnership Development to strengthen the Foundation’s online presence and drive support for WRF initiatives. The Social Media Specialist will gain knowledge of cutting-edge conservation topics while retaining a neutral political stance. The focus of efforts include WRF’s Zoo-Park Partnerships, Bison Program, and Collaborating with Bears Program, as well as on the North American Summit on Collaborating with Wildlife in the Park Gateways taking place May 18-21, 2026 in Corpus Christi, Texas, and the 2nd North American Bison Summit (NABS2) taking place April 6-9, 2027 in Denver, Colorado. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement creative social media strategies to enhance WRF’s visibility and community engagement under the direction of the WRF Executive Team.
- Create, schedule, and manage content across several major social media channels (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
- Monitor, analyze, and report on social media metrics to measure campaign success and inform future efforts
- Actively engage with followers, partners, and supporters to foster a positive, mission-driven online community with guidance from the marketing team
- Support online fundraising campaigns and special initiatives through targeted digital outreach
- Stay current on social media trends, tools, and best practices in the nonprofit sector
- Coordinate with program, events, and outreach staff to amplify organizational news, impact, and opportunities for involvement
- Uphold WRF’s brand voice and messaging consistency across all digital channels.
The Social Media Specialist is required to designate 10-12 hours (flexible but defined by timelines) a week to WRF and agree to work with WRF for 4 months, reporting to the WRF Director of Partnership Development. This is an unpaid position with a stipend possible based on performance and additional responsibility.
