Truckee Donner Land Trust Stewardship Department
Position: Stewardship Associate Hourly Rate: $24-28 DOE
Tenure/Time Base: Full-Time (40 hrs/week), Seasonal, Spring/Summer/Fall 2026

Duties
Essential Functions: Candidates must be able to perform the following duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
· Ability to hike 5-10 miles/day with 40-50 lbs of equipment
· Ability to work alone in remote settings in adverse terrain and weather
· Ability to communicate verbally, written, and electronically with supervisors and staff
· Ability to use critical thinking skills while working independently without direct supervision
· Install signage throughout Land Trust properties
· Assist with annual logout of Land Trust system trails with chainsaws and hand tools
· Knowledge of proper trail maintenance and ability to identify problem areas
· Assist Public Access and Trails Coordinator with volunteer trail days
· Ability to provide courteous, personal outreach to volunteers and public
· Assist with periodic monitoring and cleaning of properties and trailheads
· Assist with misc stewardship objectives such as fence installation, tool maintenance, etc
· Assist with the Independence Lake Boat Rental Program as needed
· Ability to obtain employer provided CPR/First Aid training
· Must possess a valid DL and reliable means of transportation
