Job Description and Duties:

The Division of Integrated Science and Engineering, Fisheries and Technical Support Unit, is looking for a highly motivated Senior Environmental Scientist (Specialist) to conduct technical and scientific analyses and provide expertise on complex fisheries modeling, studies, and issues related to fisheries ecology in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, with a focus on survival studies and quantification of SWP/CVP fish losses. Under the direction of the Environmental Program Manager I, the Senior Environmental Scientist (Specialist) will serve as one of the primary branch investigators by assisting with the development of study designs, completing data analyses, reviewing, and preparing reports and publications, and presenting study results to scientific colleagues.  The incumbent will also lead a Structured Decision-Making process in evaluating new methods for quantification of SWP/CVP fish losses and developing fish studies and monitoring to improve the operation of SWP fish protection and water diversion facilities as required in the SWP Biological Opinions and Incidental Take Permits.
