Yosemite Guide Service is a family-owned and operated guide service providing sightseeing tours, day hikes, backpacking trips, and other nature-based excursions in Yosemite National Park. Our guided trips are private, customized outings focused on the natural environment of Yosemite and the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains. Our primary goal is providing outstanding customer service by focusing on our guest’s needs and their safety, and creating relationships through our high-quality guided experiences.
Who we are looking for: A responsible and reliable, friendly and easygoing person who loves the outdoors and interacting with people. Knowledge of natural communities, native flora & fauna, and the biota and ecosystems of the Sierra Nevada is very important. Accordingly, if this isn’t your strong point a keen interest in nature, ecology, history, and a willingness to learn about our natural environment and the events and history of Yosemite is required.
We will provide training and guidance to perform the duties of a sightseeing, hiking, and backpacking guide, and the information, data, and facts you’ll need to confidently lead trips in Yosemite. We are looking for a committed and trustworthy individual to start as soon as possible. Our position is seasonal, commonly beginning in mid-April and ending in early to mid-October.
Due to legal requirements with providing transportation for our guests, you must be at least 25 years of age and have a clean driving record. This position also has responsibilities related to maintaining equipment and vehicles (including cleaning), attention to the care and safety of our guests, planning daily itineraries, preparation of picnic lunches, and the ability to anticipate and adjust to the needs & desires of our guests. Housing can be available for a reasonable cost. Additional opportunities for augmenting your income are also available.
