Defensible Space Specialists play a vital role in reducing wildfire risk by conducting defensible space inspections, providing education and outreach, and supporting green waste programs. Under the guidance of the Wildfire Prevention Manager, you will interact with the public, offer valuable assistance, and help ensure that homes and communities are better prepared for fire season. This is a seasonal non-safety, 40-hour per week position. A part-time schedule may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Weekend and holiday shifts may be necessary to connect with part-time residents.

Required Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability
  • Efficient in Microsoft Office 365, Word and Excel, with ability to learn other computer programs and tablet-based applications

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and maintain professional relationships.
  • Proficiency in using modern office technology, including computers, smartphones, and tablets.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with defensible space regulations and wildfire prevention practices.
