Stevens Peak Hike

Scott Vail, Board member, will lead this 10+ mile hike to Stevens Peak, southeast of Luther Pass on July 2nd from 8am-4pm. The hike begins at 8,000 feet off Highway 89 and climbs over five miles to 10,000 feet at the hike turnaround at Stevens Peak. Wildflowers should be abundant, and the views are excellent. After Tahoe’s celebrated July Fourth festivities, our beaches are covered with trash, which can hurt wildlife and lake clarity. Each year, Tahoe residents and visitors turn out for our largest cleanup of the year to remove litter from Lake Tahoe's shores. Join Sugar Pine Foundation for a family friendly tree watering event on South Shore. Watering helps the seedlings survive the hot dry Tahoe summer! Meet at the football fields. Bring a water bladder or water jugs if you have them. Wear hiking shoes. We will be alternating watering locations each week.

Volunteer workdays will be centered around small site improvement projects that may include: weeding, native plant cultivation, orchard care, trail maintenance and upkeep tasks within the Outdoor Learning Campus.
