We at Indigenous Futures Society in partnership with Indigenous Leadership Initiative (ILI) and the Resources Legacy Fund would love for you to join us on February 20th at 12PM for a lunchtime webinar on Canada’s nationwide Indigenous Guardians movement with their impactful leader and Executive Director, Valérie Courtois. She will share about the experience of working directly with more than 200 First Nations to advance their leadership on the land and helping secure federal funding for Indigenous Guardians programs and Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas in Canada. Courtois is also a registered professional forester specializing in Indigenous issues, forest ecology and ecosystem-based management and planning, and is a member of the Innu community of Mashteuiatsh, located on the shore of Peikuakami, or Lac-St-Jean.

As we in California continue to reclaim Tribal stewardship, we hope this hour can be a time for connection, learning and hope for a California Guardians Network one day.
