Returning Native Lands to Native Hands

ARC hosts this fundraiser to give the 320-acre property currently known as Ladies Valley to the Miwok-Nisenan members of Cosumnes Culture and Waterways (CCAWW). With this momentous gift to the indigenous people of the region, ARC is participating in the international “landback” movement.

This fundraising experience aims to raise at least $25,000. The funds will jump-start a living, cultural heritage site where local tribes will build a village of traditional bark houses to once again gather and propagate plants for food, medicine, and culture. Along with ARC’s gift of the land in Placerville, CA, the gift of funding will support the initial stewardship of the property’s riverfront access, native plant and animal species. With the completion of this land and funding transfer, the heritage site will belong to the local Indigenous community in perpetuity.

Live event includes Native American music, story-telling, nature-inspired art auction, refreshments, and local wines. Whether or not you join the event, you can donate to this fundraiser in the event registration link.

Join ARC on October 22nd at 2 pm at Wakamatsu Farm for the event.
