We hope you’ll join us on Tuesday, May 21st from 7:45 – 9:15 a.m. for our May monthly breakfast meeting, Good Morning Truckee: Forest Health and Land Access in Truckee-Tahoe.

We’ll hear from John Svahn, Executive Director of Truckee Donner Land Trust (TDLT), about numerous forest restoration projects – totalling more than $2.5 million – that TDLT has tackled across several TDLT-secured and managed open spaces. We’re happy to have Truckee River District Ranger Jonathon Cook Fisher of Tahoe National Forest/the U.S Forest Service back for an update on our local forests, and Stacy Caldwell, CEO of Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation (TTCF) to talk about TTCF’s Forest Futures program, which they’ve raised more than $5.75 million to fund and granted $2 million to local organizations so far to prevent forest fire disasters and promote forest health. For our brief nonprofit update, we’ll hear from Executive Director Laura Abbey Brown of Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education.
