Community Bon(d)fire
Fire has long been a symbol of inspiration, rebirth and renewal, and thus we thought we’d celebrate the new year by hosting a Community Bon(d)fire. Over the last several months, BYLT has worked alongside Cal Fire to clear the dead, downed, woody debris within Wildflower Ridge Preserve. Piles have been amassed and we’re now ready to burn! Through pile burning, we have the opportunity to restore resilient forest structure, protect homes, and recreational opportunities.
So please, join us at Wildflower Ridge Preserve on Friday, January 9 for our community bonding while pile burning event. We’ll be out at Wildflower Ridge Preserve starting at 3pm to get the fires going, and we’ll be adding wood to the flame well into the evening. We welcome you to join us at any point of the day.
Bring any (or all) of the following items: camp chair, musical instrument, something to snack on and drink, potatoes or other items to throw in the fire, and gloves if you’d like to help pull broom and/or throw wood into the burn. We’ll supply some snacks and drinks.
