Discover the art and science of plants in a unique Botanical Illustration Workshop, led by local botanist Jeannette Halderman and scientific illustrator Annaliese Miller.

Together, they’ll explore plant structure from both botanical and artistic perspectives, focusing on Monocots, Dicots, and Gymnosperms. You’ll gain insight into how plant families are classified and learn a variety of illustration techniques—from scanning and tracing to using microscopes.

After the presentation, you’ll choose from a selection of plant specimens (live, dried, or photos) and practice drawing using the methods discussed. All materials, including #2 pencils, will be provided—but feel free to bring your favorite tools or journal.
