Birds of Lake Tahoe Hike

June 1, 2024 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am

Ever wanted to know more about the birds in Lake Tahoe? Wanted to learn how to identify them and get first hand experience in identifying what birds are flying above you during your walks and hikes?

The Tahoe Area Sierra Club and Sierra State Parks Foundation is hosting a Birds of Lake Tahoe hike on National Trails Day where we’ll be exploring the trails around Washoe Meadows State Park with Sheryl Ferguson, a local birding expert. The hike will be on June 1st starting at 8:00 am and is anticipated to last for 2 to 3 hours. This hike should be easy due to the trails in Washoe Meadows being relatively flat and we will be walking for 2 to 3 miles. We ask those joining us to come prepared due to there being no facilities in the area so be prepared with snacks, water, and sunscreen. Other items we recommend bringing include binoculars, spotting scope, and/or birding identification books. Please pre-register to fill our waiver and to ensure a spot: https://act.sierraclub.org/events/details?formcampaignid=7013q000002JyRXAA0.
