American River Conservancy: 2022 California Naturalist Certification

The American River Conservancy’s 2022 California Naturalist Certification course begins this March!

If you enjoy exploring and learning about our local ecology, engaging in participatory science and sharing your knowledge with others, this program is for you! The 40 hour course combines a science curriculum with guest lecturers, field trips and project-based learning to explore the unique ecology and natural history of the Sierra Foothills. In order to provide a safe learning for staff, volunteers and students this year’s course will be held online with the exception of a few small, socially distanced field trips. Geared towards adults ages 18+.

Meeting Days & Times: Ten virtual classroom sessions via Zoom on Thursdays, March 10 – May 19, 2022. 4:00pm-6:30pm with three, Saturday in-person field trips.

Course Fee: Early registration (by February 18th) $425 or late registration (Feb. 19th – March 10th, if not full) $455. Registration Fee includes The California Naturalist Handbook (2013, UC Press; $35). A limited number of need-based scholarships are available.  Scholarship applications are available upon request.
