Sierra Nevada Alliance Virtual Conference
Sierra Nevada Alliance’s 2020 virtual conference will take place on September 10th and 11th. The theme of this year’s conference is a “2020 Vision for the Sierra Nevada.” This two-day conference features panels and workshops led by Sierra conservation leaders. Sierra-wide Executive Director Peer Huddle
The purpose of these gatherings is to network, coordinate, share resources, provide professional development, and generally lift each other up to get more conservation work done in the Sierra. This month we will share ideas for end of year appeals, setting up a Sierra Nevada marketing, DEI stewardship campaign, discuss politics (praying for positive news by then) and legislative updates, and network of course! Lets have fun, get inspired and create landscape greeting cards with the fine art of printmaking! Taught by Gina Stowell, with inspiration from one of her favorite Northern California artist Tom Killion. He has a beautiful book called, “The High Sierra of California”. It has about 40 prints different landscapes of Yosemite, Giant Sequoias and more. His techniques are influenced by the traditional wood cut, Japaneses Ukiyo-ë style of Hokusai and Hiroshige.
