Take Action!

CalBike has remained steadfast in its commitment to Complete Streets projects in local communities across the state to allow for greater pedestrian and bicycle access. In 2019, they advocated for legislation requiring Caltrans projects to implement Complete Streets improvements. Ultimately the governor vetoed this effort, but Caltrans has since updated its own Complete Streets requirements. They need to know how you feel about Caltrans roadways today, so they can advocate for stronger requirements for tomorrow.

Many of California’s most dangerous streets for bicycling are controlled by Caltrans, and the California Bicycle Coalition needs your help to make them better. Please take this quick survey to rate how comfortable you feel biking on the Caltrans-controlled roadways in your area. Routes listed on the survey are all of the Caltrans controlled highways that serve as surface streets in local neighborhoods around the state. All responses are due by Friday, October 6.

Input from supporters like you across the state will help them make the case to legislators for comprehensive Complete Streets requirements for all Caltrans projects. Take the survey now.
