If we as an organization or as individuals have learned anything from these recent tragedies, it is that we must be proactive listeners and learners. Environmental nonprofits fit a unique niche in our society and culture, and for us to create a special, safe, and inclusive space, we must open our ears to and eyes to the struggle of Black Indigenous People of Color.
