The joint budget released last week by the State Senate and Assembly (see lines 725 and 726 here), includes an unprecedented opportunity to invest in science that will support biodiversity and land management for decades to come. The Legislature’s budget agreement has $40M to complete the statewide finescale vegetation map and $13M to address the California Natural Diversity Database backlog.
To ensure these investments are carried in the Governor’s budget as well, the California Native Plant Society is sending a letter outlining the benefits of these programs and are asking for your sign-on through this form by THIS WEDNESDAY morning, June 8.
