The California Fifth Climate Change Assessment is seeking public input on research priorities and topics that will inform the scope of climate adaptation and resilience research conducted as part of California’s Fifth Climate Change Assessment.

The purpose of this survey is to gather input on California-specific research priorities that will inform the scope of climate adaptation and resilience research conducted as a part of California’s Fifth Climate Change Assessment (Fifth Assessment). Find examples of research conducted throughout California’s Fourth Climate Change Assessment here.

In the survey, consider adding the following climate change research questions that are relevant to the Sierra region. We want more research & resources on the impacts and changes that are happening in the Sierra.

• What areas in the Sierra Nevada play a critical role in building California’s climate resilience?
• What areas in the Sierra Nevada play a critical role in building California’s water resilience?
• How wildfires are impacting Sierra Nevada’s biodiversity, watersheds, local communities, and the tourism economy?
• Which species, ecosystems, habitats, and watersheds of the Sierra Nevada are at most risk of climate change?
• How the change of snowfall and rainfall are impacting Sierra Nevada’s biodiversity, watersheds, local communities, and the tourism economy?
• What are the key strategies and actions for building climate adaptation and resilience in the Sierra Nevada region?
