As of June 1, the Lahontan National Fish Hatchery Complex began stocking 100,000 Lahontan cutthroat trout (LCT) into Lake Tahoe and will be restocked throughout the summer! 🐟 🎣

This effort is the result of a multiagency and tribal cooperative to reintroduce native and threatened species to the Tahoe Basin. The Washoe Tribe is an important partner and stakeholder in the continued effort to protect and conserve the LCT, which hold significant cultural value. Reintroductions will in turn help restore the native ecosystem and expand recreational fishing opportunities.

You can learn more about this incredible stocking effort and new fishing regulations here: wildlife.ca.gov/News/lake-tahoe-to-receive-100000-lahontan-cutthroat-trout-this-summer or check out our Linkin.bio.
