Have you heard about the return of a special Tahoe resident?🐣 After nearly 100 years, the Sandhill Crane has begun nesting in the Lake Tahoe Basin once again. It’s believed that a lack of hunting has prompted their return to the region, but care is still needed to protect their nesting sites during the Spring. Learn more at the link in bio 🔗

Last week, our Sierra Nevada AmeriCorps Partnership (SNAP) members got together for their annual spring training 🏞️ With a guided hike from the Yosemite Conservancy, GIS training with Tuolumne River Trust, lots of s’mores, and plenty of time to get to know each other, it was a great week for our members to connect and grow their skill sets. Thank you to Camp Tuolumne Trails for hosting us! Learn more about the SNAP program at the link in bio 🔗

Meet the faces of SNA 🌟

Let’s all say hello to Ginger Jui, a Sierra Corps Forestry Fellow with Columbia College this year 🌲 Ginger is the Instructional Support Specialist and will be helping teach Forestry and Wildland Firefighting. As the former Executive Director of Bike East Bay, Ginger is making a career change from bicycle advocacy to climate and wildfire resilience.

They’re looking forward to so many things, from using a chainsaw to working controlled burns with various entities, to getting wildland firefighter certifications and hopefully teaching their own class over the summer. We’re excited to see what Ginger accomplishes this year!🔥
